
1888 – 1963
Serving in the 161e RI, Colonel Adrien Henry was wounded thirteen times during the Great War, gassed, taken prisoner and escaped. During World War II, he became one of the first resistance fighters in the Indre department and took part in the Liberation battles with his gendarmes.
Grand Officier de la Légion d'Honneur and holder of thirty-six decorations, his memory lives on through the 118e promotion of the EOGN at Melun, named 'Colonel Adrien Henry' on June 26, 2012.
