Adrien Henry completed his military service with the 69e RI in Nancy, shown here in 1911. He became a sergeant and then top of his class among officer cadets. Afterwards, he returned to the farm and could not remain an officer, lacking the means to attend regular training periods or to purchase his own uniforms. Here he is seen at the Bois-l'Eveque camp.
He completed his military service with the 69e RI in Nancy and graduated top of his reserve officer class. Having to run the farm, he was unable to attend reserve training periods, and it was as a sergeant that he was assigned to the 161e RI at Saint-Mihiel, where he would carry out his military training.
